This hybrid was named in honor of the ‘Queen’ of the Mak-Leek fields on their 50th wedding anniversary (Ria Mak). It is my privilege and honor to have this in my stock to be able to offer you this rare gem. This graceful and more delicate interdivisional hybrid carries a charm of distinction all on its own. The semi pendant form attracts hummingbirds as well as other pollinators. Something interesting is that the bloom has very minuscule fragrance, nor was there appearance of fading color in the heat of the sun. This alone captured my heart, but looking at the glowing rays and the linear red star painted on each tepal has captured my soul. A vigorous grower, Bloom Time is later season  ( late July- early August ) making it a perfect accompaniment with the arrival of autumn when colors are starting to wane.  Such a rare delight of late blooming showcase color. August 5rd for me in Minnesota .. What a welcome of the autumn color display!
