Outrageous Oriental Lilium. Division VII
Oriental Lilies are the classic “late bloomer.” These fragrant stunning bulbs bloom after Asiatic Lilies creating a continuation of Lilly blooms in your gardens well into the seasons. Thus, these make up the unforgettable bouquets of dramatic display. Orientals are seen growing in Zone 5-9 –Preferring acidic soils and temperate moist summers with frequent watering if nature isn’t in full supply. Provide shaded areas, leaf mulching or container maintenance and cultivation if necessary. The objective we want to achieve is; the Oriental bulb to drain the stem prior to frost, ( become nice and brown ) before cutting it back during fall clean up. Do not allow to freeze and thaw during the winter season behaviors above ground in urns.
