Description
Lime Ice Parentage unknown. This glows in the gardens and it stands tall with its star shaped flowers. This is not in cultivation here in the USA R: W. Windus (1970), N: W. Windus (1975), REG: W. Windus (1975) Fls brilliant greenish yellow (2B) except for brilliant yellow-green (149C) inner throat; spots 3-4, only on edge of inner tepals; nectaries strong yellow-green (143B); pollen strong orange (26A). Tepal-margins smooth. Lvs mid green. Stems 1.2 m, mid green. July. (Published in Lilies and other Liliaceae, 1975: 94. Fades in sun to overall brilliant greenish yellow (2B).).
Having this beauty in the gardens is actually stunning with the lemon-green buds that open to a fantastic inflorescence of all the combined stems, stalks, bracts, buds and blooms. The color pigments are so unusual that it almost makes you pucker. I have had this now for several seasons and am thrilled to have some to offer for all of you this season.
