Description

‘Claude L. Shride’ is a shade loving martagon that was a hybridized from the Pacific Northern Region, after traveling and finding the farm of Hartle-Gilman, Claude gave this bulb for growing to Marsha Hartle. Later on—- H&R Cocker of Rochester Minnesota, visited the farm and noticed this classic, and knew that it needed to be named and registered in the 70’s. I love that this particular bulb developed a very unique and life long friendship of Shride, Hartle, Gilman and Cocker. Together they made this happen. Today, IT IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR MARTAGONS within the gardens of collectors. I have found many seedlings of Claude Shride , each unique and one of a kind. Shiny, Glossy, Bronzed-red, on graceful stems.   14.00 each or 3/36.00   Truly a stunning Minnesota Martagon Lily
Height 5+ once established Every Collector needs at least one Claude amongst the gardens beds.  This strain is Original Stock that I and my friend harvested from the fields and it is now multiplying within the new home of Hartle-Gilman Gardens
