Description

‘Brunsweik’
This beauty was Registered in 1999. I am thrilled to have this within my gardens and fields. This classic that just isn’t offered often. These have traveled far to reach my gardens. Parentage: L. × dalhansonii Terrace City Group X tsingtauense R: O. Beutnagel (pre 1998), N: O. Beutnagel, REG: ICRA (1999) Fls orange-yellow with small red spots over the whole fl.; pollen orange-red. Lvs dark green. Stems 1 m, dark green to almost black, with 30 or more fls. Late June. Syn.: ‘Brunswick Beauty’. (Published in German Lily Group sales list, 1998. The epithet is the old spelling of Braunschweig, where the raiser lives. Often called ‘Brunswick Beauty’ in N America.)
Many of you may not know that I am a huge fan of the orange hybrids and their related species.  The flat larger floret is all it takes for me with the dark stems and maroon stigma.
This clone was on the farm of Hartle-Gilman Gardens as original stock in 2020 … What an absolute delight. I am using these in my program for large-flat outward martagons. My first season, I had but a single bloom, and now a few seasons later, multiple of stems and an abundant of blooms. The flowers are very large and showy— Almost more outward facing … A hard one to find in cultivation
Height: 4-5 feet tall once established.
Bloom Period: June in zone 5
Plant your dormant bulb: 3x the height of your lily bulb and water in well
Light: Full Sunshine to Filtered Sun-rays
