The vigor of ‘Akimena’ martagon has proven well in my Minnesota gardens. The tall molted plum stems are already emerge early June and by the end of the month it is in full glory to welcome the summer season that is starting. They glow in the low lite areas of our gardens hiding behind astilbes and hostas and fiddleheads,
These like dappled light, so make sure that they are not in too deep of a woodland area. This martagon is not one that is not offered annually.
4-5 feet tall when mature
Bloom Time June (mid )
