Description

Oriental Lily ‘Tiger Moon’.  Left in the gardens it glows in the moonlight on those midsummer evenings. Its extremely radical in appearance, and its fragrance. The pinwheel midribs has it spinning in motion to keep it glowing. The whiskers, or the better term, papillae which are the small raised protrusions on the interior tepals, attract nearby pollinators providing a textured surface to land on are a deep cherry contrast that concludes to an absolutely stunning display of drops of dripping nectar, and hummingbirds  licking blossoms.
Tiger Moon has a way of luring the pollinator to the nectar glands deep within, so—- I placed my nose and just like that, I was pollinated. The fragrance is like nothing I have captured. (Perfect)   Creamy Yellow White blossoms and then the most contrasting maroon freckles.
Outward facing flower making this attract the interest of the gawkers and gazers near-by.
3-4 feet tall
Blooms July/August

Oriental instructions that have worked for me in Minnesota

Plant in a moist free-draining acidic soil enriched with organic matter for optimal growth. For container planting use a loam-based, and some sand.   Regular feedings and watering throughout the growing season will ensure vibrant blooms. After flowering, leave the stem intact until nice and dry, while slowly reducing the watering of your Oriental Lilies. Then when dry, clean the pot and move the container to a cool frost free spot. In boarders, lift clean and store for the winter in a cooler or suitable chilly spot. Replant the following spring during appropriate climates making sure that they are free from dangerous frosty days.

Plant 5-6 inches deep and water in well.    Zone 4-8  for Oriental Lilies. Warmer Climates will need to make an artificial cold climate for a winter dormancy
