Description
OK—– Sometimes it’s very hard to explain the details and uniqueness of a bloom. But with Sunny Side Over that is a Robinson created martagon pre 1990, its charm is easily identifiable and the distinction is unforgettable. Large pink buds appear early on the dark chocolate stems. We are surprised when it revels yellow flowers that fade to an almost buttermilk appearance as the bloom matures. The sassy, prevalent purple freckles give it a unique applauding ovation when they appear almost three dimensional with each floret that blooms within the inflorescence. How fortunate I was to recieve a few of these three seasons ago and now have a few to offer for others in our community of martagon collectors.
4 feet tall and higher once mature
semi shade and loves woodland dappled sunlight.
Plant 5-6 inches deep to ensure later emergence in spring to dodge the late frost dates. Water in well ( I always use warm water for their first drink….)
