Parentage: hansonii X medeoloides R: F.L. Skinner, N: F.L. Skinner, I: F.L. Skinner (1948) Fls red. Stems 1-1.2 m. July. Intermediate between parents. (Published in Skinner’s Nursery Cat., 1948.). Classic Hybrid with complex genetics The lineage of one cross of L. medeoloides to a hybrid lily which was L. martagon x L. hansonii breeding led to this unusual and rare cross ‘Redman’ which became a 3 way hybrid.
This was actually my very first martagon that I acquired. The dark brown, orange color had me on a chase ever since 2020. I will in the next year have lots of fun photos to share of ‘Furthermore’ Lily’s created by design and plan by my ideas, thoughts and lots of prayers…. My studies and program. Redman, L. medeoloides, L. martagon, L. distchum, and other lovely species are the foundation of ‘Furthermore’ …. more to come– I have a few that I am able to offer this season
4-5 feet tall. with smaller tightly recurved tepals. This is a sweet little flower that gets a huge inflorescence as it matures over the years. Very attractive and vigorous grower.
vigorous once established
Plant 5-6 inches deep in dappled sunshine. remember no heavy shaded areas nor continuous wet, moist soils
