Description

This martagon is a classic woodland lily with small, delicate, pendant flowers with recurved petals. Lilium martagon ‘Orange Marmalade’ has shocking tangerine orange petals that are narrower than other martagons and no spotting held on dark stems. Unusual…. Bred using three martagon ” Species” ( L. martagon, L. hansonii, and L. tsingtauense ) Personally?? What a breeding triumph. These seem pure in distinction as well as splendor. Ed Robinsons work is/was exceptional, released as ‘Tsinson’ in the early 70’s and re-registered in the early 90’s as what we know it today. Martagons sometimes don’t like to come up the first year and if they do, they may not bloom. They are ok, just busy making perennial root structures. The division of Martagons have become my favorite with Species right in line next.
