Parentage: L. × dalhansonii X tsingtauense. Historic and classic lily
R: E. Robinson (c. 1964), N: E. Robinson. Perianth has open star shaped tepals. Very sought for in breeding and unusual with a hybrid l. martagon
Inside bright, light red, centre pale yellow; outside pale creamy; spots almost absent . Stems 1.2-1.5 m, with c.20 fls. July. (Unacceptable name: ‘Hantsing’ (being formed from dalhansonii and tsingtauense) is not acceptable under ICNCP, 2004: Art. 19.13 – after 1959 a name must be in any language other than Latin.). There is unusual lineage that needs to be pointed out with this hybrid and that is that it is a sibling of L. martagon ‘Orange Marmalade’. when studying closely, one see such similarities that I now am wondering what would happen if the two were crossed—- this has now happened and we will await
When mass stems emerge after a few season, it is ablaze with an abundant of textures and stunning unique breeding qualities. A very unique and different floret on this hybrid. Interesting enough, I have been dabbling with martasians and I used the pollen of this one on a interesting side facing asiatic and I have swelling of seeds producing, hopefully viable and will cross my fingers … I used a cut style pollination technique and a day where it was 103d F. in the shade.
