Description

Burnt Orange martagon is a new martagon that has increased extremely well. So expect multiple stems over a few seasons once it has established. I was first introduced to the attractiveness of this beautiful martagon when I was judging in Canada.  Sometimes we see colors that just seem to connect together for that perfect annsamnbo. This martagon was registered – pre 1995 D. Dale and the parentage is unknown—-

Its brilliant deep rich gold tepals have even a richer gold on tips on the petals. The freckles in contrast are a deep berry of rich dark cherry. The flowers are larger an flat causing an effect that when it blooms from the bottom up to appear almost like a delphinium in full bloom. This wand like inflorescence creates an unusual vertical dimension within the landscapes. But,  there is something more with this hybrid….. The stem is as dark and rich as the freckles. Berry-dark with deep saturated color.  I cannot say enough about the details and I knew that I had to have a few for my own personal collection. Today— Fall 2026, I have a few that I can offer

FALL 2026—- WHEN HARVESTING, THE BULBS WERE TOO SMALL, THOUGH VIGOROUS, THEY NEED TO BULK UP FOR A SEASON, THOSE THAT HAVE RESERVED THIS WILL HAVE IT NOTED AS A CROP FAILURE FOR THE SEASON AND SUBTRACTED AMOUNT ON FINAL INVOICE WILL REFLECT THIS DECISION.
