Here is another of the “EVENT SERIES” Asiatic with such defined spattered deep maroon speckling. This is what I call a  looker as well as a talker— I turn my head in disbelief as the attraction appeals to me. I want more of these so I scaled them,  and now have many always blooming with in the gardens. A few years ago I saw this flower in a floral design at the NSLS, where it won many awards in 2021. The contrast of the pumpkin orange pollen makes this just pop in the gardens and in floral design. Companion to Stracciatella and Strawberry Event series. Chocolate Event’ I(b-c/b-c). Parentage unknown: Chance Seedling

REG; Lily Company B.V. 2017.     Inside of tepals predominantly purple-red, with narrow, deep red flare along and beside midveins nearly to tip; tips and margins narrow, white. along distal margins nearly to tip. Outside of tepals yellowish white; midribs pale yellow. Papillae absent; nectaries pale yellow, closed; filaments yellowish white; pollen vivid orange; stigma moderate red. Fls 160 mm wide, Spots relatively few, purple-red, small to medium-sized not scented; tepals 75 × 55 mm, margins smooth, tips circles closely grouped in center of basal half of each tepal to either side of flare; papillae purple-red; straight or very slightly recurved. Lvs 80 × 9 mm, scattered, strong yellow-green above. Stems 0.85 m, 143A, with up to 11 fls. (average 7). Early
