Description
Robertson 1975 and Introduced almost 10 years after it first bloomed, 1984.. When a hybridizer selects a seedling, they do not just introduce and mass propagate the selection. The seedling has to be evaluated for many season to prove many factors. That is why with most of the descriptions that I have here, It tells the story of when it was (H) Hybridized, ( G) who has grown this hybrid and (R) who raised it to first flower, (I) who introduced it to maybe a show, or perhaps a publication, (N) who named the lily ( REG) who filed the paperwork for the registration with RHS LILY REGISTER Lily registers Sometimes it takes a village.
A disguised Golden-Yellow, and caramel undertones that mingles with cream reverses and midrib. What a delightful bloom of substance, as well as inflorescence. Fragrance is soft and clean . Tall, graceful and whorled green stems complement the color of these blossoms, buds and petals. Very Large flowers blooming on a candelabra of dancing butterflies. The spotting is specified to just the center of the flower. How this glows from across the garden beds. I have an abundant of these as I love the sparkling, shiny, smooth, and yellowness of happiness. My favorite within the gardens are the yellows.
Height 4+ once established… Just gets better with age…

Parentage: (L. × dalhansonii ‘Brocade’ × unknown) X unknown R: E. Robinson (1975), G: E. Robinson (1980), N: E. Robinson (1985), I: E. Robinson (1984), REG: D. Dale (1993). Inside light yellow with dark yellow tepal-margins; outside light yellow, midribs tan; spots sparse, medium sized, dark maroon, on basal two-thirds of each tepal; nectaries light yellow; pollen golden. Fls 70 mm wide; tepals 37 × 15 mm, margins smooth, tips slightly recurved. Lvs whorled, 140 × 50 mm, dark green. Stems 1 m, black above, dark green at base, with 16-20 fls. Mid July.
