Native to Japan,’King David’ is a look alike, of Lilium leichtlinii is an Asiatic species which is incredibly graceful with slender stems and plenty of long narrow foliage, golden yellow flowers that are two inches wide resembling the Tiger. Downward facing and strongly reflexed, is ‘King David’, covered with chocolate speckles giving them the appearance of the skin of the tiger. The stems also have a really nice chocolate sturdiness to the structure of this beauty. No fuzzy buds as the species has. But a fascinating beauty from Holland.
