Description
Cranberry Dancer —-This is one that we haven’t seen to often available. The last time I offered this was when I harvested from the original field of Hartle-Gilman Gardens in November 2020.

Fox (1992) Inside tepal-tips and apical third cranberry-red, the central third yellow partially overlaid with cranberry spots, the basal third deep yellow; outside midribs plum- coloured, with plum-coloured tips turning to deep yellow at the centre of each tepal; spots medium sized, on the central third of each tepal, spilling onto the back at the midpoint; nectaries deep yellow; pollen deep yellow. Fls 50 mm wide; tepals 40 × 15 mm, margins smooth, tips slightly recurved. Lvs whorled, 110 × 55 mm, mid green. Stems 1.6 m, green, with c.24 fls. Late June to early July.
The flowers are large and the colors are of a dusty, antique rose with a harmony of overlays in old-gold — Who doesn’t like Old Gold. Goodness.
This is a very nice increaser in just over a few short seasons here in Minnesota. I have about 10 -12 of these this season for distributing. They are nice size bulbs and will be dug up fresh for fall deliveries.
Plant 5-6 inches deep to ensure to not emerge until after the late frost dates.
